Avantages
Once you impress the right people, you kind of float by doing the bare minimum and folks will smile at you and form a general consensus that baby, you've got talent! If you paste on a fake smile and a bubbly attitude and don't let anything bug you, you'll do just fine. It's a brownnoser's paradise. Decent diversity and inclusion efforts at all research facilities, especially Stamford. Good work/life balance for those that work; even better for those that don't really do anything! Base compensation was improved in recent years but still falls on the low end of average.
Inconvénients
The concept of change is terrifying to most, and several people are okay just sitting in their sad little cubicles rotting away for the entirety of their careers. People are generally extremely unhappy but afraid to speak up outside of their own little cliques which forms a toxic environment for those on the sidelines. The same lazy people will quickly throw you under the bus if you succeed. Technology Solutions GBU never really integrated or recovered after Solvay acquisition largely due to extremely misguided upper management. Low innovation level and boring projects led with a haphazard sense of urgency cause burnout and boredom simultaneously.
