Avantages
As most mention, there is an employee discount. But it scarcely makes up for all the things that have been lost over the past decade.
Inconvénients
The rewards for going above and beyond have evaporated. The ridiculous expectations have steadily increased. If you are asked to do something outside your job duties, it will become a part of your everyday duties from that point forward. Exceptional employees are given more work until they become average, and if they push back they're suddenly "problematic". They then see apathetic co-workers making the same money, if not more than they do and become apathetic themselves. What was considered "exceptional effort" years ago has become routine expectations, such as having to cover multiple departments while still being expected to do all the regular tasks of your department. In my case, a bad management team made a pleasant job into a miserable experience, and it was hard to remain invested when my managers just did not care. In a nutshell, it's all stick and no carrot.
