While most other departments are known for fostering growth and maintaining a positive environment, this does not seem to apply to the CSEs. The only advancement opportunities available to us are either moving into Lead roles or transitioning to Professional Services. However, there are currently only two Lead positions within the department, and as long as they are filled, upward mobility is limited since other positions are never open.
We have virtual meetings 2-3 times a day, yet are still required to be onsite from Monday to Thursday. There seems to be little justification for this requirement.
If your goal is to remain a CSE, this position may suit you, but upward progression is limited. As a result, the average tenure for CSEs tends to be less than a year
