Avantages

Unlimited PTO, incentives offered for meeting company goals, work from home.

Inconvénients

Fires to be put out all the time and expect to work over 40 hours every week. Everyone on my team occasionally works late nights and weekends to stay afloat due to the very fast paced environment with tight deadlines. I’ve worked previous jobs where I rarely had to work over 40 hours but it’s definitely the norm here. Also, you have to log your hours worked for everything and need to meet a billable hours threshold. Although the company offers unlimited PTO, it’s one of those scenarios where you wouldn’t feel comfortable taking time off because you have so much work to do and it’ll get passed on to someone else or your workload would be unmanageable when you came back.

Avantages

I worked with some incredible colleagues across departments, whom I was very lucky to work with and learn from. Flexible work arrangements made it easier to balance personal and professional responsibilities. Compensation was fair for me personally. Clients were typically kind, and the work was always interesting and fun to be a part of.

Inconvénients

Micromanagement was common, with a lack of clarity on what the standard process was, as everyone did things a little bit differently. VisionPoint also focused on being feedback-oriented, but typically, feedback conversations were more negative, only focusing on what one was doing wrong rather than providing developmental support. Management regularly asks for escalations on other employees as well, which just creates an anxious environment where most are afraid of making a mistake and feeling like they can't trust others. While some employees were given flexibility and trust, others were held to different standards, which created an uneven and discouraging environment. It became clear very early on in my time at VP that favoritism was given. I had a handful of experiences where management and leadership talked poorly about other employees. I was very disappointed in this. VP recently laid off many across the company.
