CEO actively recruited me, I did not apply to this role. They will have you do a cognitive and behavior assessment prior to speaking which is pretty standard. I accepted a phone interview based off of the job title alone. I currently have a management-level role at a startup and thought a conversation was at least worth my time. I did some research on the company and role the day prior to speaking with the CEO. Through reviews and LinkedIn postings found that the role isn't a BDM role but rather a hybrid BDR/SDR/AM role that pays below market for any of those roles. I gave them the benefit of the doubt that the information I found may be inaccurate and didn't cancel the phone call. CEO prefaced the interview by saying that we were going to discuss my background and that there wasn't much time for anything else. This has not been my experience with other phone interviews I have done recently, where the hiring manager/recruiter prefaced the conversation by asking if I had any questions. We discussed prior sales closing roles I had and what my metrics were. I tried to tie in other roles where I built and implemented business development strategies but he cut me off and wanted to focus on the previous closing roles and metrics. The CEO confirmed that the role is a hybrid role. I informed him that I was not interested in moving from a management-level position to an individual contributor making less than I currently make. He seemed to become annoyed with me at this point. I tried to give some constructive criticism on the current state of their BD on LinkedIn however he cut me off and told me that I am entitled and ended the call. I can confirm that the review from Feb 2018 is accurate to my experience.

      Question 1

Asked a lot of questions about previous closing roles and what my metrics were. What did I like or dislike about the closing roles? No questions about prior Business Development or Sales Development experience.

Unique/streamlined interview process, direct and to the point. Ultimately, I felt there was a mutual respect for the time and efficiency for both myself and the interviewer, CEO Mark. This style my not be for everyone, especially if you are accustomed to/prefer the old world corporate interview process, but for me there was a solid enough fit to accept the offer.

Please save yourself the grief of dealing with this company. The founder Mark is hands down the rudest person I've ever encountered. For the record I am not some entry level candidate and he treated me in the upmost disgusting manner for the most simple of mistakes. He didn't move forward with the interview because I had called in rather than video conferenced. (Which would've taken 4 seconds for me to have found the email to have hopped on, and maybe your email should've not offered the iPhone call in as an option) Says the man who was 5 minutes late to begin with. He said, "We like when people pay attention to detail." and I think it's fair to say, "I like when people are actually punctual." It's his loss anyways and my save, the position pays garbage in comparison to what I am used to getting paid. PS. Clearly a very Type A personality. Good luck + they don't even offer any benefits.

I am sorry that you had a bad experience. Your review is upsetting because I know I’m not a "rude" or "disgusting" person. You are stating your feelings - not the facts. And I'm confused why you would feel this way since I did not say anything pessimistic or demeaning. I simply said we were not going to continue the interview because you did not follow our interview instructions. Attention to detail is a core value of ours and I believe in being direct. I think you were experiencing something stressful in your life and this interview was a trigger for you. People who are happy with their lives do not try to tear others down. You are right about one thing though. I should have given you the opportunity to continue the interview. That was rude of me. But, now that I see your virtual "road rage" I realize I made the right decision not to hire you. I wish you all the best, Mark Marcelletti, CEO
