Initial interview setup was with one person, 3 days later when remote interview arrived, they were a no show. I reached out to the person I had initially talked to. No response, but a few hours later someone else from the company reached out and told me that person no longer worked for the company. First red flag. New person setup a new in person interview.
I arrived on time and was treated very nicely by the HR rep and hiring manager. I could have done better in the interview as I was nervous, but the hiring manager still felt that I was viable and wanted to go talk to someone else so he left the room, and brought back an older gentlemen who I think was the CEO/Owner. He smiled shook hands, and his first glance at my resume he started making fun of my name. It became very uncomfortable and even the hiring manager looked uncomfortable. This man proceeded to mock my military history, name, and resume/experience. He was very unprofessional. Rude. Didn't understand my experience or the products I worked on and had to continually ask the hiring manager about specific products and "do we use that". He would ask questions, then cut me off before I was able to answer fully.
It was the most humiliating experience of my adult working life. I believe the people working there are probably good people, but the guy running the place is a poor example of what a leader should be.
They followed up after the interview with a few other questions about my education but no offer came. While I needed the job at the time I believe I would have hated working there and dodged a bullet.
