Once you submit your online application (short essays and background information), you get chosen to interview with the hiring manager. Depending on your location, you'll either do an in-person interview or an interview over the skype. The interview was pretty personal, straight-forward. It felt like they just wanted to get a sense of the kind of person I was. No previous experience necessary.
