      Entretien

      Scheduled an onsite interview without even doing a phone screen of some sort. Got no offer because of my visa status which they asked at the start of the interview but went on with it. They rejected me 2 hours into the interview. I really hope they don't waste my time by telling me to go to Kirkland for an interview and rejecting me because of my visa. The interviewer was intimidating at first but got better as the interview went on. They asked typical Ds Algo questions where I was able to solve it in my own way and achieved their O(n) complexity requirements, however, when I was explaining my thought process, the interviewer was nodding his head in disapproval. I suggest the company be open to multiple solutions.

      Recruiter reached out about opportunity and was very friendly and informative. Informed me of the interview process which is pretty intensive in my opinion for a small company with only 50 employees. Started off with a HackerRank assessment which was pretty easy. I passed and a few days later I was scheduled to meet with the VP of the entire company. My interview literally lasted less than 10 minutes. Asked me a simple question which I technically did not get wrong, however he was looking for a certain answer without elaborating what he was looking for and despite asking for more context I kept getting confused as to what he was looking for as he continued to be unclear. I would compare the situation to someone asking you where to eat with no context to what kind of food they want and every suggestion gets a response of no as there is only one specific restaurant they want to go to. He started becoming passive aggressive when I couldn't give him the answer he wanted, told me I wasn't a great fit, never even told me the answer and ended the call by saying "I'm glad I had the chance to speak with you...I guess?" I understand not being a fit for a position due to certain expertise being required for the job, but telling an applicant that "you guess" you are glad you had a chance to speak with them was unnecessary and highly unprofessional. You would expect someone in a high tier position would have a bit more people skills, however this experience proved me wrong. Honestly, I'm glad I didn't get the opportunity to move forward or the job itself as I can't imagine how bad it would be to get through all these interviews only to end up working with someone like this in a leadership position.
