This was a bad process on many levels. I had multiple phone interviews, all of which went well, but ultimately I took another offer as the process had dragged on for several weeks with very poor communication with the hiring folks. The first two interviewers read directly off of a question sheet and explicitly asked for one word answers to questions that ought to require some explanation. The second interviewer was explicitly looking for buzz terms rather than explanations of concepts, with a strange emphasis on confusion matrix evaluation terms. On the whole this was just a very corporate and soul-less interview, they clearly don't respect their candidates and I can't imagine that this would be a fruitful environment for someone hoping to do creative data work.
