      Candidature

J'ai postulé en personne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Allison Transmission (Indianapolis, IN) en juil. 2025

      Entretien

I interviewed for the Sr. Manager, IT End User Services position at Allison Transmission and appreciated the opportunity to meet with several team members during the onsite portion of the process. The interview itself was professionally conducted, with thoughtful questions and a clear overview of the role’s scope and expectations. In this role, you will be 95% onsite while managing a remote contract team, I was particularly interested in how Allison Transmission supports hybrid leadership models. While the interviewers touched on collaboration and team dynamics, I would have appreciated deeper discussion around how the company enables leaders to effectively manage remote contractors—especially in a role that appears to be heavily operational and service-oriented. ✅ Pros: The onsite interview was well-organized and gave me a strong impression of the team and company culture. Interviewers were courteous, knowledgeable, and appeared genuinely invested in the company’s mission. The role seemed strategically important and well-aligned with my professional background. ❌ Cons: Communication following the onsite interview was disappointing. Despite the time and effort invested, I received no updates for several weeks. Eventually, I received a generic rejection email stating: "We write to inform you that we will not be pursuing your candidacy for the Manager, IT End User Services opening at Allison Transmission. The selection process was highly competitive, and we have decided to pursue other applicants whose background and experience more closely matches the requirements of the position..." While I understand that hiring decisions are competitive, the lack of transparency and absence of feedback after an in-person interview felt impersonal. Notably, the role has remained vacant for an extended period, which raises questions about the clarity of the hiring strategy or internal alignment around the position. Based on my experience, I’m not confident it will be filled in the near future. 📝 Final Thoughts: Allison Transmission is a respected company with a strong legacy, and the individuals I met were professional and welcoming. However, the candidate experience—particularly post-interview communication—could benefit from greater consistency and respect for the time applicants invest. A more transparent process and timely follow-up would go a long way in reinforcing the company’s reputation among prospective candidates.
