Absolutely wonderful interview process and people. I applied on the company website after seeing a posting for the job on my university website. I heard from a team member 2 days after applying online asking for a time I was available for a phone interview 2 days later. The phone interview was pretty straightforward and was mostly about my background and how I got to where I am today. After telling the interviewer that I was actually in NYC at the time since I had another onsite interview the day before he immediately invited me to come to the office. He wanted me to come in right after the phone interview but due to other interviews I had lined up with other companies later that day I ended up going in the next morning instead. The office was very nice and the people were all friendly. It seemed like an amazing work environment and I was offered refreshments while I waited for my interviews to begin. I had an interview with two team members who were also interested in my background and what things I am passionate about. They asked me to go into detail about some of the activities that I was involved in. They were very open in explaining the role to me and excited to answer any questions I had. After that I had an hour long interview with the guy who is the head of the NYC office and he was also very engaging and interested in who I am as a person and what makes me tick. Everyone seemed very happy with their job and the company. They want people who love what they are doing. About two days later I received a phone call with a verbal offer followed by my official offer letter. The turnaround time for the entire process was amazing. They really respect their candidates and don't want to waste a candidates time waiting. I've never experienced such quick turnaround from a company. Everyone seemed genuinely interested in me which was very refreshing.

Nothing unexpected, but they really want to know what you are passionate about. They want passionate people.

Horrible and impersonal. Looking for certain personality traits and only have 30 second to answer first round interview questions. The questions are extreme basic and not related to the position. In addition, your recording your answers and have no redo.

They say that they're looking for passion and flexibility, but to be completely honest, it doesn't seem like they really know what they're looking for. It's an unnecessarily long process considering that they keep saying they're growing quickly. My path: I attended a recruiting event and I actually enjoyed talking with the recruiters - they seemed to truly enjoy their job. Everyone was told to apply online. After I applied, actually thought I'd been rejected because I didn't hear back from them. But 3+ weeks afterward, I surprisingly received an email to do the video interviews. 2 weeks after that, I was scheduled to do a phone interview. A red flag I should have listened to early on, however, was that my emails for clarification - and even a phone call to their office - went unanswered. So although I thought my phone interview went well, I wasn't especially surprised that I received a rejection email the next day. They keep emphasizing that they're growing, but I don't see how that's possible if their recruiting process is this slow and unfriendly. Some tips: For the video interview, just go through all the questions found here and practice answering to your computer (remember to look into the camera, not the screen; think of the camera as your interviewer's eyes). If you practice, it really isn't as bad as people keep whining about. For the phone interview, it'll be really short - mine was 15 minutes exactly - with disconnected questions and no follow up. It seemed like they were just running through a list of questions. When I asked if there were any concerns about my application, my interviewer said I checked out fine and should hear back within 2 weeks. The fact that I wasn't passed through tells me 1) my interviewer really had concerns, which says they aren't keen on being open with their candidates despite their touting a culture of open communication; 2) they're looking for very specific qualifications that they're not communicating to candidates; 3) they don't really know or there's no consistency about what they're looking for in a candidate. I think AlphaSights is doing great work -- but if this is how they treat their candidates, I'm not so sure it'd be great to actually work there.

I submitted my resume and cover letter directly on their website for the people operations role. I was also required to answer a short answer response to talk about why I wanted to work at AlphaSights. I was then contacted a couple days later by a recruiter to set up a phone interview. The phone interview was all behavioral questions (ex: tell me about a time when...) and she was really interested in understanding how I chose my major at school, why I am interested in the student orgs I am involved in, and my college decision process. She asked me a couple questions about my leadership experiences, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. The interview lasted about 45 minutes. Two days later, I was contacted by the same interviewer with an invitation to their NY office for final rounds. We emailed back and forth to set up the best time that worked for both of us. She remained prompt with email communication, which is always really nice during any recruiting process. I went to their NY office on a Friday afternoon and had two 1hr interviews each with 4 people from the POPs team. I enjoyed the opportunity to meet 5 out of 7 POPs members throughout the interview process. They asked detailed behavioral questions, walked through my resume, inquired about my passions, and reasons why I wanted to work at AlphaSights. The interviewers were really interested in hearing about all my experiences and gave me feedback on what I was saying with head nods and positive acknowledgments throughout. It felt more like a conversation than a formal interview. About 2 weeks later, I received a verbal offer to join their team. My experiences with AlphaSights was very positive and efficient. My biggest advice would be to go into the interview knowing what AlphaSights do, know why you are interested in the company and position, and be genuine with your answers. The recruiters interview hundreds of people so they know when an applicant is not being authentic with their answers. Be excited about your interests, even if it's not directly relevant to knowledge brokerage- they are really looking for people who are entrepreneurial, genuine, and passionate. I would say the People Operations interview felt more like they were interviewing for personality and culture fit more than hard skills.

      Question 1

If you could recommend a peer who would be better equipped at AlphaSights than you, who would it be and why? If you could go back in time and change 2-3 life decisions, what would they be? How would these changes benefit or impact your development?
