J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 3 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Anderson Business Advisors (Las Vegas, NV) en déc. 2025

      Entretien

I applied for this role because the job description presented it as an HR leadership position supporting the Las Vegas locations, with a focus on employee relations, leave administration, HR infrastructure, and the full talent lifecycle. The recruiter I worked with was great — transparent, responsive, and easy to communicate with. After that, I completed a computer literacy assessment and moved on to a second interview. The interview was originally scheduled with the HR Director the role would report to, but it was rescheduled, and I ultimately met with a Benefits Consultant who was temporarily covering generalist responsibilities. The interview itself was a very different experience than expected. The interviewer appeared rushed and overwhelmed, and the tone felt more like a rapid-fire exam than a discussion. Nearly all of the questions were highly technical benefits questions tied to specific state laws for states I haven’t worked in — despite the role being based in Nevada and the job posting emphasizing broader HR leadership, employee relations, and strategic responsibilities. It was also difficult to ask for clarification. When I paused to think or asked for additional context, I was reminded that the questions were “based on my resume,” which gave the impression that hesitation equaled dishonesty. I take a lot of pride in how accurately I represent my experience, so that dynamic was disappointing. There was additionally an impression that the interviewer urgently needed someone to take over day-to-day employee relations issues, which made the focus on niche multi-state benefits questions even more confusing. If the actual need is a deep multi-state benefits specialist — or someone to absorb high-volume ER work — the job posting doesn’t reflect that, and should. Overall, the role I applied for and the role I was interviewed for were not aligned. I’m sharing this feedback in hopes that it helps improve the candidate experience and gives future applicants clearer insight into what the position truly requires.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad your experience with our recruiter was positive and apologize for the mismatch in your second interview. The rescheduling meant you met with a different team member than expected, which we recognize may not have reflected the strategic HR leadership focus of the role. We appreciate your observations on the interview tone and content and will review our process to ensure candidates have space to demonstrate their experience and that questions align with the position’s responsibilities.
