      Candidature

J'ai postulé via une agence de recrutement. J'ai passé un entretien chez Auto-Chlor System (Seattle, WA) en déc. 2015

      Entretien

They had me do a ton of questions on paper, then do a test on a computer, followed by an in person interview with the branch manager. I waited for a very long time after my testing was submitted. I felt like it was a huge waste of time because I was disqualified right away based on my driving record.

Terrible. Interviewer interupted four times with phone calls. This guy was an idiot. Asked tons of questions that can not be asked legally. What a joke.

I was contacted by a local HR rep that found my resume on one of the internet job boards. A little Q&A went on about the company and position they were hiring for, it sounded like a decent gig so I went ahead and scheduled an interview. Within a couple of days I met with the HR Director, who oddly enough did not spend much time assessing my skill set but more of telling me about the job and company. Still sounded ok, base of $35,000 with a 6 month ramp up (commissions paid at 100% of quota while you learn) (expected 1st year targeted earnings of about $55,000), company car to take home, gas, benefits. After I met with her she had me take a mechanical aptitude test (if this gear is moving this way, what way will the other gear move?). In addition to a test with questions like: "It's ok to steal from you employer as long as the value of the item you're stealing doesn't exceed A: $5, B:$100, C: Not Ever.... I was then contacted by the sales manager that worked out of that office. I met with this guy, and he didn't come across as very bright or professional so I figured I'd continue to play ball thinking if anything I could ride out their 6 month salary and commission guarantee while I continued to look for another job. So I continued to act excited about the job and company. Basically you go door to door visiting small mom and pop type restaurants to try and lease them a commercial dishwasher. After I met with the fearless sales leader he had me come in the next day to take a 2 hour long personality test. Questions like: "I would like to be: A: Circus Clown, B: Lion Tamer, C: Acrobat..... " This was all quite interesting to me because I have held many previous positions with greater responsibility and pay that required less to get the job. Additionally I see this company hiring for sales people all the time on the job boards which probably means there is a tremendous amount of turnover here. The sales manager I had my interview did mention that all the previous sales reps had moved on to other things....??? Hhhmm? Well I never heard back from them and I'm ok with that, maybe they sensed my desire to just use them as a paycheck until I found a position that better suited the caliber of sales professional I was. Apparently there was still a meeting with the district sales manager, then a ride a long with a sales guy, followed by the background check, rectal exam, and drug test. If you're interviewing with this company for sales, and get the job, keep looking as it has a huge potential to be short lived.
