      My interview at Byte for the SAM role left me feeling a little confused and frustrated. The interviewer, while pleasant, seemed preoccupied and not particularly interested in getting to know me as a candidate. There were minimal smiles or reactions throughout the conversation, which made it difficult to feel comfortable and engaged. The interview itself was a mixed bag. The interviewer launched into a series of specific, technical questions to test my knowledge. Some were great conversation starters, but others felt a bit out of the blue and caught me off guard. Unfortunately, the interviewer seemed to be running behind schedule. This led to a rushed feeling at the end, leaving me with barely enough time to ask my own questions. It felt like the interviewer was pushing to wrap things up quickly. When I inquired about the next steps, the interviewer was dismissive, simply telling me to check with HR. Unfortunately, HR never reached out after the interview. I recently followed up requesting feedback but ultimately decided not to proceed with the role. To add to the confusion, after my final follow-up, an internal recruiter finally contacted me. They informed me that I received positive feedback and would have progressed to the final stage. However, they stated they were putting the hiring for this position on hold due to internal restructuring. They claimed they would reach out if they resumed hiring, but disappointingly, the job listing has been continuously reposted on various platforms throughout this time. This lack of transparency about the hiring process and the inconsistency between their communication and actions left me feeling misled. It felt like they either weren't truly interested in progressing with my application (which I would have much more appreciated knowing directly) or were just keeping the job posting open without any intention to fill it, wasting job seekers' time. In the end, while I received positive feedback, I came to realize that Byte might not be the best fit for my career goals.
