      Entretien

"I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at Belkin (Playa Vista, CA) in June 2015. The interview process consisted of an initial phone interview with a recruiter then with a current business development manager. Simple conversation with questions about the company my familiarity with the specific products and my past work experience. I was connected to an HR recruiter within Belkin that took several days to respond to emails regarding the vetting process and sometimes no response at all. This should had been my first sign to not waste my time with this company. After several weeks I finally received a response to interview at their HQ in Playa Vista with a Biz Dev Mgr and a Biz Dev Director. I was not greeted upon entry into the office while two receptionist chit chatted with each other about another colleague who was not responding to their emails. Should not have expected it to be like many tech companies I have interviewed with, which welcome you into their offices, give you a tour of the departments and office space, allow you to meet some potential team members directly involved within the business segment and end the interview with a fond farewell. For a "tech" company Belkin displays poor communication with its potential hires, lack of actual tech usage involved in their check in process (Envoy could help them here because receptionist did not fare well), lack of initiative to use tech or modern day tools in viewing candidates profile or previous work history and requesting paper resumes and cover letters In 2015. Interview went very well with both Biz Dev Mgr. (who happened to be the CEO's son) and Biz Dev Dir. (a 2 month old recent hire from another industry) as they had both stated they had no further hires to sit and chat with and that they had no reservations about my candidacy but that this interview was merely a formality. They were impressed with my candidacy and my eagerness to solve their business pain points, so I had believed they were going to extend an offer. The interview was very simple, no difficult questions and purely conversational about what they were looking for and what they knew at the time to be a business problem within this particular product segment. With little to no communication even after my thank you emails to the HR recruiter, the biz dev mgr, and biz dev dir, and others involved in the coordination of my interviews, unfortunately I did not receive an offer or email reply until two months later and this wasn't until I reached out again to the HR recruiter. You will find that this place is the epitome of a nepotistic culture if you research easily enough thru glassdoor. Glassdoor has a very good indication on most companies and what to expect! I should have listened to the advice in many of the reviews. This company could see great talent helping them solve challenging issues but they refuse to see that potential because it is still privately held by someone who does not seem to care much of the future direction. I hope they prove me wrong!"
