I had one phone interview followed by a presentation to the lab. Phone interview was just to check if I fit the role. I presented my PhD research work and got a lot of questions on it. This was followed by a one on one interaction with the PI.

I interviewed directly with my lab PI as well as some members of the lab and key collaborators.
This included both email and phone interviews before being invited for in person interviews.
