I moved up from furniture lead after proving myself. I was a proven leader in the furniture department that gave me the opportunity to advance further. My general manager saw I was not working to my potential, he decided to put me where my skills could and would be used.

Entretien
Met with the district manager first. Asked some questions. Was looking for someone who didn't know much about the company. Then met with the store manager and that went pretty well. Got an offer 2 weeks later.

Entretien
The DTL, STL, and myself sat in a room for close to an hour, he literally asked me 3 questions that would relate to the actual role of the job that I was applying for. Spent the rest of the time talking about Big Lots new systems they were putting in place. Then proceeded to tell me that he didn't have any input on the decision because that was the STLs decision to make and he was only there because they require him to be there.
