When I arrived, I was brought up to HR and given paperwork to fill out for my past employment and a background check. Then I was given a short quiz on preparing solutions and interpreting results using charts and graphs. After I finished the quiz, my manager was called. The interview was comfortable- my manager was most interested in my personality and work approach (perhaps because my submitted application already displayed that I was competent in the skills needed to perform the job). After the interview, I was given a thorough tour of the lab by two of my coworkers. I was introduced to everyone and sincerely felt wanted. The tour especially made me want the job, so I followed up with an email thanking the manager (I had to ask HR to forward it, but if you can get a business card in the interview, that is even better!). Overall, it was an excellent interview experience!

Interview felt a bit stiff with the managers mainly reading prepared questions from a packet. Other than that, it was pretty pleasant and the lab tour was helpful. It would have been a bit less awkward if there were fewer prescribed questions.
