Entretien
I applied for abroad position through India. HR call was good, though my interview was rescheduled couple of times, since the position i had applied for earlier was put on hold. I had phone screening interview with an bloomberg engineer from NY. For most interview, I felt interviewer was distracted and kept looking at screen, and kept making faces as if annoyed, which was quite distracting and seemed like interviewer had only made up the mind (i am not sure if interview is designed like that or it was particular to the interviewer, However, this was the only part I didn't like about interview). I was asked 2 behavior questions (about my past project and why you and 2 LC medium interview questions which I was able to solve in with optimized algorithm. I didn't get feedback for rejection, but my guess is I didn't perform well on behavior interview, it seems they put more weight age to "why you want to join bloomberg?"
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
Why you want to work at bloomberg? 2 Leetcode medium questions. One question was tagged under bloomberg top 5.
Terrible communication. Got passed between 3 different recruiters all of whom gave specific dates for updates and blew past them. Descriptions of what would be covered in the interviews are wholly inaccurate (don’t bother reading the PDF they sent to “prep” you, almost none of it came up in any of the 3 interviews I did with them.)
Interviewers themselves were decent but clearly had exact “right” answers they were looking for. What’s the point of a leetcode question where there’s only one way to implement it? What’s the point of a system design interview where you’re having a candidate parse through a complex system that they clearly already know everything about and are just looking for 1-2 EXACT modifications to check off their boxes? Was there even a right answer? I genuinely don’t know what this company was looking for. Waste of time, waste of effort, waste of resources. Avoid, avoid, avoid
