Phone screen with recruiter, phone screen with hiring manager, panel interview. Seems like bar raiser has been integrated into panel interview. A lot of the panel questions asked were kind of weird - basically seeing if you had equations or mechanical property values memorized.

To start off, I'm in Aerospace industry and although I apply for jobs in other industries too, I get calls from companies in this field most of the time for obvious reasons. My phone screen was with the recruiter who set up my interview with the senior manager that was about a week later. It went alright from my side and I didn't have much hope of getting advanced to the next round but to my surprise, I got an email about 3 weeks later that they would like to move me forward to the interview which included creating a presentation for a panel of four and writing a summary about space travel. It was supposed to be a 45-60 min presentation followed by a 1-on-1 interview with each of the panel member (30 mins each). I was very excited and spent so much time in creating the presentation, more than I should have. I wanted it to be perfect. The interview went very well and they were all very impressed with my presentation. Hiring manager, the main guy, even admitted to this fact and said "your presentation is very impressive, looks like you spent good time creating it. Thank you for doing that". They were so much interested in couple of the projects that I worked on and really deep dived into them. They were more excited to know about them because in Aerospace industries, some projects draw more attention to engineers. I was delighted and was positive that I would be selected for this position. I followed up after a week with the recruiter. She called me the week after to let me know that they have decided to not move forward with me at this time and encouraged me to keep applying for other positions. Needless to say, I was shattered because I was so sure to land this job. I certainly don't understand what went wrong because I answered every question that was fired at me and what I could tell from their expressions, they liked them. The interview went for 3 hours, longest I've ever been in but that is not the problem because I know to land a job in big companies like BO, this is normal and I'm fine with it but getting rejected after such a great interview hurts.
