I interviewed with Box in May of 2021. Everything seemed great until I got to the hiring manager, although the recruiter was awesome all the way through. However, the hiring manager didn’t seem like she wanted to be at the interview, she kept rolling her eyes and sighing at my responses to her questions, jumping to conclusions, not letting me finish, aggressively interrogating me and talking over me to the point where I lost my train of thought and just went through the motions as respectfully as I could, given the disrespectful circumstances. This is one of the very few interviews where I could tell right away that something wasn’t right and that I should run, not walk. Unfortunately this hiring manager had all the hallmarks of a toxic person, and I immediately emailed the recruiter to say it wasn’t the right fit. I’m not sure if this is an overarching problem with her team, or the culture itself, but I’m not taking that kind of risk.
