One of the strangest interview processes I have experienced. I interviewed for this role four weeks ago. The interview itself was a good experience, both interviewers were friendly and the questions & task were clear. It was the communication and transparency post interview that was disappointing. There was a three week delay in communication, I followed up with the recruiter on several occasion and was told this was initially because a candidate was unwell and then told it was because of the company rebrand. I then received a phone call to say they had rejected every candidate but myself three weeks ago and I was the only candidate they wanted to give an offer too. In most circumstances this would lead one to believe they would be receiving an offer, but in this case, I was told that due to the rebrand they no longer saw a clear purpose for the role in its current form and were looking to change the job description altogether. I was then promised detailed feedback but did not receive that. The following week, I saw the job had been relisted with the exact same job description and no further update or feedback for myself.
Some feedback to BCN: In the current job market, 4 weeks is a lifetime. Please consider this when handling candidates, improved communication from the beginning would have been appreciated alongside a clearer reason for rejecting me that wouldn’t be entirely contradicted by the exact same job going live again a week later.
I hope anyone else that applies for this role has a better experience.
