The interview process followed the typical two-round format, beginning with a phone screening and progressing to the main interview with the hiring manager/associate creative director.
However, the overall interview experience was lackluster. During the phone call, there was a noticeable absence of probing questions, and it seemed that little attention was given to reviewing my portfolio before the meeting.
A significant concern for this role surfaced during the interview – the combination of high responsibility with a title and compensation that don't align. It appears that they are seeking a true associate creative director who can both dive into the work and lead a team, yet the offered pay does not reflect the level of responsibility expected.
The interview itself also raised a red flag. It lacked focus and the fact that the hiring manager was on team chat at the same time added to the overall impression of disorganization. Given these factors, I am content to move past this opportunity and explore other options.
