I had initially interviewed for another position, but the recruiter felt that this one would be a better fit. I applied for the Tax Operations Scheduling Specialist role after a productive conversation with the recruiter, who seemed to actually know what they were looking for. Imagine the disappointment when I heard back that they had intended this for internal applicants, and that while their stated pay range is $25-32/hours, they had no intention of going about $26/hr. The whole thing was a massive bait and switch, and did not leave me impressed with their operations or decision-making. The only positive thing I can say is that at least they didn't ghost me, though that would have been preferable to "Just kidding, we were shining you on the whole time!"
