I applied on-line. A month later I received a rejection email notice. Ten days after that an internal recruiter contacted me to set up an interview on-site. The interview was with the hiring manager and the recruiter. It was a very relaxed interview - conversational, and I thought it went very well. I was told that the company would put together a short list of candidates, and hopefully bring them back in about 3 weeks for another round of interviews. Based on the interview, I really thought I had made the short list. Over the next 2 months I periodically checked in with the recruiter, who told me each time that no decisions were made regarding the short list, and that she would keep me updated. Finally, after another inquiry by me on status, the recruiter told me the position was "closed" and that I should have received an automated email from their ATS (I didn't.)
