      Entretien pour AI/ML Architect

      Candidature

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 3 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Calsoft (Calcutta) en mars 2025

      Entretien

I would rate this experience a 0 star. Recruiter had contacted me through Naukri. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at CalSoft in March 2025 for an AIML Architect position (Kolkata location). This was easily the most unprofessional and disorganized interview process I've ever experienced in my entire professional career. I'm documenting this in detail to help other candidates avoid wasting their time. I was initially contacted by CalSoft on March 16th, 2025 for an AIML Architect position for the Kolkata location. They claimed they were looking for an immediate joiner and would make a decision after just 2 technical rounds. This seemed reasonable and I was interested in the role. What followed was a complete mess: 1. Instead of the promised 2 rounds, I ended up giving 4 technical rounds, with the final one on March 24th, 2025. The interviews were conducted by a Senior Architect, AVP, VP, and AIML Track Head. 2. After the 3rd round, HR informed me my selection was "almost confirmed" and asked me to submit all my relevant past documents and valid ID proof for processing my candidature. I complied and provided everything requested. 3. After the 4th round, the feedback suddenly changed to "You are neither selected, nor rejected. Team is looking at your profile internally." This was already a red flag. 4. I informed them that I was holding other offers with joining dates of March 31st, 2025 and April 2nd, 2025, and asked if they could expedite the process since my intention was to join CalSoft. 5. A day later, they called claiming there was a "mismatch" in my profile picture between my PAN card and Passport - despite having seen me live in video interviews for all 4 rounds! No other company had ever raised this bizarre issue, and it felt like they were looking for excuses. 6. I told them I could visit their office to verify in person, but needed this arranged quickly as my other joining date was approaching. 7. CalSoft strategically went silent and then reached out again on April 5th, 2025 (3 days AFTER they knew my joining date at another company had passed), asking if I was "still open for an opportunity." This felt deliberately calculated. 8. I explained my joining at the other company had been postponed to April 7th, 2025, and if they were serious, they needed to release an offer letter before 10:30 AM that Monday (my induction time). 9. On Monday morning at 9:45 AM (less than an hour before my induction), they called asking if I was "still interested" and requesting I send an email stating my desired salary. I sent this immediately, asking for confirmation before 10:30 AM. 10. No call came. When I called them at 10:40 AM, they said "if you are really interested to join CalSoft, then you have to come to the office and talk to us" - knowing full well I was already at my induction for another company! This was clearly a deliberate strategy to create impossible scenarios, ensuring I couldn't accept any offer they might extend. They knew my constraints and deliberately timed their communications to create impossible situations. What's even more concerning is that they collected all my personal documents without any formal confirmation about the selection process, which may actually violate the Data Protection and Digital Privacy act in India. The entire experience revealed either stunning incompetence in basic recruitment processes or, more likely, a deliberate attempt to string candidates along without any real intention to hire. Either way, it reflects extremely poorly on CalSoft as an organization. I was particularly interested in joining CalSoft because their first two technical rounds were challenging and I was impressed by some of the leadership. I'm someone who prioritizes quality of work over brand name (I previously left Siemens to pursue my own work). This made the unprofessional treatment all the more disappointing. If you value your time and professional dignity, I would strongly recommend avoiding CalSoft's recruitment process. An organization that shows such disregard for candidates' time and such lack of transparency is revealing its true nature, regardless of what claims they make during interviews. After I expressed my disappointment and disgust with the process, CalSoft apologized and claimed it "wasn't intentional" - but the systematic pattern of their actions suggests otherwise. They even had the audacity to suggest we might "work together in the future," which I firmly declined. (Is this a joke?!) There's no point in working with an organization where there's no trust and transparency. Atleast for me.
