Initial screening (30 minutes)
I had a phone/Zoom screen with a recruiter who walked me through the role, the team structure, and compensation range. They also asked about my background, experience, and why I was interested in the position.
Hiring manager interview (45–60 minutes)
Next, I spoke with the hiring manager. The questions focused on my previous experience, how I approach problem-solving, and a few situational/behavioral questions (for example, how I handle conflicts, tight deadlines, or competing priorities). It felt like a genuine two-way conversation rather than a rapid-fire Q&A.
Panel / team interviews (2–3 rounds)
I then met with several team members across separate conversations. Each person had a slightly different focus (technical depth, collaboration style, culture fit). I appreciated that they gave me time to ask my own questions at the end of each interview.
Final stage / case or exercise (optional)
I was asked to complete a written exercise. The instructions were clear, and I was given a reasonable amount of time to prepare. During the review, they asked thoughtful follow-up questions and seemed genuinely interested in my reasoning.
