First interview was easy - probably 20 minutes tops. I actually spoke to the CEO, which I found a little odd that he was conducting the first round of interviews. Spoke a little about me, but also listened a lot about how the company's structure worked. Seemed like you had to work your way from the bottom up. Sure sure. Got a call that evening inviting me back for a second interview, which we set up a couple days later. Confirmation email stated to dress business casual and to be available from approximately 10 a.m. until 2 or 3 in the afternoon. Didn't give any other specifics. Once I arrived, one by one, they invited applicants into a room where they were paired with a current Account Manager. We then left the room and the building without much information. The woman I was paired with explained that we were going to meet with potential clients and that I was shadowing first hand... uh, okay. She began to ask me interview questions while on the train. Felt kind of odd answering them in that public setting. We then proceeded to walk around a Chicago neighborhood for 4 hours. Soliciting. Stopping people in the street. Walking into restaurants, shops, car dealerships basically asking anyone who would listen about their product/brand they were marketing. I was mortified. I felt incredibly uncomfortable. I was not informed that I would be walking around outside for multiple hours (they couldn't have mentioned to wear comfortable shoes?!). Immediately I knew this was not a serious "marketing assistant" position but rather an annoying "sell you on the street" position. After your couple of hours following this "Account Manager" they sat me down and explained how you can "work your way up" in the company. It sounded like bologna to me. Pyramid-scheme. Afterwards, they sent me back on the train to return to their office while she continued to meet up with "clients." I was so unimpressed I didn't return to the office.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review, as a firm who are passionate about face to face communication, we could never see our personable approach to marketing as a negative thing, however, we do appreciate that this role is not everybody's cup of tea and that's ok. We are glad that the interview process provided you with a wealth of information to help you make a well-informed decision about your possible future working in the environment you were shown.

Initial interview is a screening interview so it went by very quickly. Applied online, got a text message that day to schedule an interview for the following Monday. The interviewer was very nice and laughed my jokes. He asked 4-5 questions and then gave me a quick rundown of the company. I still wasn't sure exactly what they do after that.

I walk into the office that they shared with three other companies 15 minutes early to my interview. After I check in at the front desk I get a call from person who reached out to me initally and wanted to know why I didn't show up. When I told her I had showed up and was waiting in the lobby I knew something was up. When I finally got called in (30 minutes after my scheduled time), I discovered that this company was going to have my standing in walmarts and targets trying to get people to sell unnecessary products. BUT the best part was that I was then informed that after 1 year of working for them I will own my own office.

Hi, thank you for sending us your feedback. With the training programme in place and the hands on support that we offer our trainees, there have been many successful promotions within 12 months. We are proud of our team and each individuals success, we apologize that you were not encouraged by this opportunity and perhaps more of your questions could have been answered. It seems like you caught us on a slightly dysfunctional day, we have recently rearranged our HR team and have made some alterations to the process and we did suffer some confusion amongst the team, I'm sure you understand, tho we apologize that your interview was affected by this incident.
