Pros: The initial communication was decent and the company provided a basic react.js application and data for the technical challenge. This was appreciated as it gave some direction for the task. Cons: Unfortunately, the rest of the interview process was less satisfactory. The technical challenge was complex, involving the creation of an inventory system with multiple user stories. The time allotted for this task did not seem sufficient considering its complexity. Further, despite investing considerable time and effort into this challenge, the feedback I received was disappointingly generic and non-constructive. I had hoped to learn where I fell short and areas for improvement, but the feedback did not offer such insights. Additionally, I made an effort to ask for more detailed feedback from the HR team, but my request went unanswered. This lack of response further added to my disappointment. Advice to Management: I would encourage the company to provide clear, detailed instructions for their technical challenges and to ensure they are commensurate with the level of the position. More importantly, respect the time and effort candidates invest in the process by providing specific, constructive feedback. Finally, maintaining open communication throughout the process is crucial. Ignoring requests for feedback is not a good practice and leaves candidates feeling undervalued. Despite my disappointment, I hope my experience can serve as a stepping stone for Choco to improve its interview process.
