Had two phone interviews with recruiters. 3rd interview in office with Sale Manager lasted 1.5 hours. He read questions off a script that required you to go way back into your memory banks at past jobs to give details about successes, failures, challenges, etc. After that they asked me to come in for a full day to see what a day in the life of job is. I was there 8am-6pm. Started out sitting in on sales meeting. They they had me do cold calls on phone with a script all morning. In afternoon I went on field sales appts and drop ins with a rep. Got back to office at 4pm. I was supposed to do a 5pm video conference call with Regional Manager. I was told computer would be provided for that in office. But management was gone. No one else knew anything about it. So I had to use my phone and download a conferencing app I've never heard of (which was very buggy). Because they had me use my cell to make cold calls I had very little battery life left. Office was empty by 4:45. So I searched around and found a charger at a desk. Used this and did video interview with regional manager which lasted an hour. My arms were exhausted from holding phone up to my face for so long. At the end of that interview they expressed concern that I was overqualified for job and that they would want me to give them a 3 year commitment, because they don't want me to leave after they invest in training me for months. They also wanted me to interview with another manager which would make it 5 interviews including phone. It's been a couple days and still haven't heard back from anyone or received an offer. This by far has been the most exhausting interview process I've been through. And I've never had to do a full day on the job before getting hired. But I think it's actually good to get a job preview before you take the job so both parties know what they are getting into. More companies should do it.
