First Stage - Phone Interview
A 30 min telephonic interview was scheduled via email. The interview started with a general conversation about the background, experience, day to day work process, what I like about my current job, what I dislike, reason for looking out etc. Then the conversation went into more details about the projects done in past. Tip: Shortlist a project before hand for which you feel most comfortable about to talk and describe your skills.
Second Stage - Panel Interview + Skill Test + Presentation
3 weeks after the phone interview I was called for 2 hours of onsite interview. The interview was on the similar lines as the phone interview. This was followed by a skill test. I was asked to design rather sketch out the conceptual screens based on the data sheet which consisted of tables and values. The goal was to make the information simpler for the user. Post that I was asked to present my portfolio. Be ready to explain your work. The portfolio can be one online or even a ppt or pdf would do. I used a pdf. As you go along explaining your work you will be asked questions about the thought process and challenges you encountered.
Third Stage - 1-1 Interviews
After 2.5 weeks I was called for a 3 hour final 1-1 interview with 4 different interviewers. This interview was most fun and very intellectual where I got to discuss futuristic design concepts with extremely knowledgeable people. Each interview lasted for 45 mins. The interviewers where UX lead, technology lead, product manager and hiring manager. During the interview I got to know more about my job, role & responsibilities, processes, current challenges and vision of the team.
