Beware of Unethical Hiring Practices: My Interview Experience with CitySwift I recently went through the interview process with CitySwift in mid-2023, and my experience was disheartening and frustrating. I feel it's essential to share my experience to shed light on their concerning hiring practices. To start, the interview rounds were extensive, spanning several weeks. After this prolonged evaluation period, they presented a salary offer that was derisory, falling far below the market standard. What was even more disappointing was their sudden and unexplained rescindment of the offer, leaving me astonished and without any recourse. Individually, the people I interacted with were pleasant and professional. However, it's the collective approach and behavior of the company that raises red flags. Potential candidates should approach interviews at CitySwift with caution, carefully considering if this is an environment they wish to invest their time and career in. During the interview process, several concerning aspects emerged: Unacceptable Salary and Equity Offer: The initial salary and equity proposed were far from reasonable, reflecting a lack of respect for the candidate's experience and market norms. Unprofessional Negotiation Tactics: Their negotiation tactics were unprofessional and lacked transparency. They attempted to renegotiate a previously agreed-upon salary, citing another candidate willing to accept less. Unnecessary Psychometrics Test: They introduced an additional and time-consuming psychometrics test after the offer was made, an unnecessary step for a startup organization and an inefficient use of candidates' time. Lack of Flexibility in Offer Modification: When I tried to negotiate the offer, they made superficial changes, altering the job title while maintaining the same inadequate terms. Last-Minute Offer Rescindment: Despite agreeing upon a start date and expecting further details, they abruptly rescinded the offer, claiming a more technically experienced candidate was willing to accept a lower salary. In conclusion, CitySwift's hiring practices are unethical and concerning. I strongly advise prospective candidates to carefully weigh these issues before considering a career with this company. My experience has left me deeply dissatisfied and disappointed with their lack of professionalism and integrity during the entire hiring process.
