The phone screen was very professional and I was excited and hopeful to move to the next round. The next interview wasn't for several weeks and was unfocused and I came away feeling disconnected. Then I was asked to produce THREE projects without a timeline. I produced them at a high level, which still took about 10 hours. I felt uncomfortable about doing free work, but I was really excited by the opportunity and submitted within the week. I was sent an automated email stating that they had better candidates and were moving forward with them. If you apply here - please be sure you want to invest your time and give your work away for free.

Extremely unprofessional. My scheduled interview was cancelled because they offered the job to another candidate. It's totally okay to not be picked however, they're legally obligated to honor scheduled interviews. My lawyer said it's possible my interview was cancelled once finding out I am a Woman of Color. Not only is this poor time management, inconsistency but it lends to discrimination.

I completed a phone screening with their Recruiter. The interview was fairly straightforward and took about 30 minutes. It was held over Google Meet.
I was emailed a couple days later and was invited to interview with their hiring manager. I scheduled a time with the hiring manager to interview.
About a week before the interview, I received an email that the role had been filled. It is unfortunate that I did not get a chance to interview further, but Classkick's communication through the process was good.
Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate you taking the time to do so. We would welcome a follow-up email (info@classkick.com) to learn more about your experience and how we can continue to refine our hiring practices.

After interviewing with the Senior Recruiter, I was passed onto the hiring manager. The interview with the hiring manager was only two questions. Following that interview, I was sent a work sample assignment, which required more than 10 hours of work. After submitting the sample and not hearing anything for more than a week, I sent a request for an update, to which I received a reply that said "there must have been a glitch in the system and I should have been notified earlier that I was no longer in consideration."
I felt the lack of acknowledgement and communication after requesting a lengthy amount of work was disrespectful. As a company built to sell a product promoting immediate feedback for students, Classkick needs to live the same principle through its hiring practices. It doesn't take much to acknowledge the amount of work that requested in a work sample; however it is disrespectful to candidates to ask for hours of free time and ideas and then not respond or thank them for their effort.
I also don't think you can judge a candidate by two questions and a work sample that is not given the opportunity of presentation.
Classkick - you're missing the boat on your hiring practices and it's unfortunate because you've got great examples right in front of you with the product that you're selling. You need to live your own mission.
