I applied and was contacted by two people in recruiting who were not very organized. They both seemed to not know how to take notes or listen well during the phone interview as evidenced by their lack of comprehension to my answers. One of them even asked the same questions more than once and did not know much about the job itself. Well is that not your job? Where do they find people in HR/ recruiting? Aren't these guys the first line of defense to an organization?
I was contacted several weeks later for another set of phone interviews with people in California and the local Washington, D.C. area. While the California interviewer was pleasant and joy to speak with, the three local D.C. interviewers were unprofessional. The first one went off on his past employer (a company I used to work for as well). The 2 people who were supposed to interview me after him didn't even bother to call and were basically virtual no shows. I later found out that they decided to go with another candidate and didn't want to waste my time. The worst part was that they already decided this before the first local guy called me but they didn't tell him either. The young and inexperienced recruiting coordinator (poor guy) was kind enough to tell me this although he probably shouldn't have by HR guidelines. He no longer works for the company- thank goodness for him and his career!
