I had a recruiter reach out to me via phone call. I think it was over a week before we set up a 30-minute video chat interview. In the interview, the recruiter went over the company, job, and other important position details. The recruiter said she'd be in contact about the next steps. After not hearing anything from them for about a month, they reach out to schedule the panel interview. I thought each person was great, we had thoughtful discussions, and respectful dialog. After that interview, I was told AGAIN that they'd be in contact about next steps, which was a final in-person interview. I was patient and waited. I think I made it to the second week of not hearing anything from them, so I had to reach out to the recruiter myself. In response, I get the ol "While your experience is certainly impressive, we've decided to move on with other candidates." email. Nothing personal, nothing that acknowledged that I put in the work that I did. All very cold.
And now, over a month after they tried ghosting me and gave me the cold shoulder, they've posted the SAME job. I figure if they liked me enough to where I made it to the semi-final round, that maybe I'd be worth reaching out to. They say they keep your information on file to contact you should there be another position opening that fits my experience level. I wonder if that's true or if they really strung me along for that long, only to put out the job post again.
