Didn’t interview for job I applied for. Applied for specialist job, and recruiter suggested to interview for strategist role instead due to my prior experience. Average 2 person panel interview. I had a ton of questions and they answered each well. They were very informative on what to expect in the job. I got an offer and accepted. The job sounds a lot different than the job description and they said the role was changing. Sounds very phone based. I’ve been a freelancer for several years so my issue is with the third party vendor they use for employment verification. I’ve done all the leg work for the company. I’ve sent in several documents that could have saved me the time if they would actually do their job and call references, instead they immediately ask for W2s to prove past employment. If you’re a freelancer, you don’t get those. It’s been a stressful process gathering documents going back 5 years. What happened to calling a few references, criminal background, and drug test? No, this company goes back 5 years of employment and expects you to do the work for them. We’re applying for a marketing job, not FBI clearance or a car loan.
