      Entretien

      The interview took place with 5 people, comprising everyone from their IT Director all the way down to their newest, greenest programmer. Everyone in the room looked somewhat bored during the interview. One of them checked his watch several times. The IT Director seemed friendly enough but the others were mostly stone faced throughout the process. One of them looked like he'd not reviewed my resume before the interview and was trying to quickly catch up. One of them tried his best to put me on the defensive several times, I suppose to see what sort of response he'd get. The new programmer mostly sat there and watched in silence. The job I was interviewing for was a general .NET developer. The interview focused more on my front-end web development experience. I think they were clearly looking for a javascript savvy web developer with experience using the ExtJS javascript library. I don't think they really cared much about anything of my other database, middle tier, or front end UI experience. After the interview they gave me 3 "technical" tests on C#, Javascript and ExtJS. The tests were a mix of essay questions, multiple choice and "what does this code sample produce" questions. Some of the code samples had technical flaws that made me wonder what their production code might look like. The ExtJS test was looking up statements/questions in the library documentation's table of contents. I was told this was supposed to test my ability to find information online. I didn't bother to mention that information is typically found online by searching Google with keywords, not by paging through documents manually scanning for particular statements. No feedback was given for the testing. No ability to expand on essay answers, defend my positions, etc. It took two weeks for them to give the recruiter feedback on the interview. Based on the feedback, it's clear they place a great deal of emphasis on their after interview testing.

      They asked questions about my javascript background. They asked if I had written ODATA controllers before. They asked if I had worked in an Agile shop before.
