I applied for the job the last week of August. A month later I was contacted for a phone interview for the position by the original hiring manager. Based on that interview, I traveled to Burlington, VT to interview in person with the original hiring manager and another manager. 2 weeks after that interview, having not heard from them, I contacted DI. I was told that I was their #1 choice for the position but they were looking to hire 2-3 people and wanted to on-board everyone together. A month later, I had another phone interview with another manager who would eventually be named as my manager. A month after that interview, I was formally offered a position, which I accepted. I completed the background check and drug test, passing both, completed my tax paperwork and made travel plans to Burlington for my first day. It was then, less than three weeks before my official start date, that they rescinded the offer saying "after further consideration". That's it. Attempts at communicating with them further to get clarification went unanswered.
Not only was 5 months of time wasted that I could have spent looking for another job, but I made financial obligations based on the offer. Do not waste your time applying with Data Innovations, they negotiate in bad faith. If they are willing to treat people like this who are interviewing with them, will they treat their employees any better?
