      Candidature

      Entretien

The interview process at Delta Day Trading was incredible. They Really put me through the ringer. They are hiring over 100 people in Scottsdale, Arizona. I walked in and was amazed at the professional office. I thought I was in Warren Buffett’s boardroom or something. It has a private radio studio, trading rooms, and dozens of private offices. Absolutely beautiful. The beginning of my interview was in a conference room. The first thing they did was give me an interview and ask some overhead questions about compliance. The interviewer asked me to use a whiteboard to explain my answers. I was intimidated, because I have never been thrown into that kind of position in an interview, where I was actually teaching. The cool thing is that that feeling went always and I could freely express myself instead of the interview feeling like an interrogation, as it usually does. Then, I was complimented and we moved to a computer where I watched a handful of trading videos and was asked to write my own multiple choice questions about what i watched. Again, I was not answering their questions, but creating my own to show what I just learned. I found out later it was an IQ test to test my ability to learn and then my level of critical thinking. Then they put me on the phone to talk to an actual customer to see how I would handle a client when they are asking me things I have no knowledge of. I think they wanted to gauge my authenticity and transparency. That was very stressful, but again, they wanted to see me in action, in stressful situations and not try to doubletalk my way around. As it turns out, I was offered a position. The whole interview experience was nothing like I have ever done before. It was a little like a selection class in the military. I met the CEO, because he was in town. And I quickly figured out why the interview process was like it is. He is a NO-BS kind of guy. He seems to really work hard to elevate that company to levels beyond any competitor. He is quite serious, but really fun at the same time. I know at this company I need to tow the line like I had to in the military. I even had to brush off my military phonetic alphabet, as using it at Delta Trading is mandatory. I cannot believe the level of attention to detail the company promotes. It was the hardest interview but the best interview I have ever participated in.
