It was an introductory call. The recruiter spoke very fast, almost as if in a rush. After two questions, I was asked about my salary expectations. I mentioned a range that seemed to be higher than what they offer for this position, and right after the recruiter mentioned their salary, they asked me if I wanted to continue the conversation or not. I expected it to be a mutual exploratory call, not a hard screening one.
