First I had a virtual interview with a recruiter she was lovely then I went in and spoke to the GM of the store. He asked me about my past experiences and told me that is assistant manager basically made the final decision.

I rated the interview as average because the process and conversation went mostly how you'd expect it to go. The thing that I wasn't expecting was for the hiring manager to tell me that my 8+ years of experience in the jewelry industry were "worthless to him" because he would have to "untrain me" and then teach me the Diamonds Direct ways. I'm well aware that all companies have their own policies/procedures or "ways" of doing things, but to tell a prospective candidate that their experience is worthless really speaks volumes about the company - or at least that store's - culture. For what it's worth, I had been contacted by a recruiter for Diamonds Direct to schedule this interview, based on my resume and experience.
