BEWARE IF YOU'RE INTERVIEWING
It was the most bizarre interview I ever had. I had an initial screen, everything was great. We moved to phone screen which also went great. I had an onsite stage which based on the feedback went good (strong technical component, decent people component). We talked about my salary expectations, I told them I had an offer from a different company expiring in a week. The next day Discord came back with an offer which was lower than I expected.
I asked for another conversation to get more details about the job and we talked through that. I told that I'm ok signing, but will be great if they can get me extra 10-20k/yr. The day after my other offer had expired I got contacted by Discord saying my TC dropped by ~25% bc of the downlevel. I asked how it's possible that I got downleveled after a week after my interview feedback got submitted, but I didn't get clear answer.

Autres retours d’entretien d’embauche pour un poste comme Software Engineering Manager chez Discord
Just a phone screen. I declined to pursue the position after the intro call. Everything was regular, except the person said they are looking for a manager that "games regularly", and "brings that gamer attitude", and has played on Playstation, Xbox and streamed themselves playing etc. This seems odd to me - they are considering mostly white, single, 20/30 year old gamer dudes for this role. So, immature!

Recruiter Screen, Hiring Manager screen, followed by 7 round onsite (if you clear the HM screen). Had a really bad experience with Discord. The HM rescheduled multiple times (every time one day before the interview). Shows complete lack of disregard for the interviewee's time. On the day of the interview, they showed up a few minutes late. They exchanged some awkward pleasantries. Asked some questions around project execution etc, how do you manage time etc. When it was time for me to ask questions, there was a total lack of engagement from them. Terse one word/sentence responses. I spent more time framing the question as opposed to the amount of time they took to answer my question. I was trying to engage them in a conversation, but very lukewarm response. Maybe they had made up their mind to not move forward, but they made me feel like I was wasting their time. I didn't hear back for multiple weeks, and had to follow up with multiple ppl/multiple times to get a response (which I kind of guessed by the time). I'm happy I didn't I have to waste my time and energy for their 7 round onsite. Don't waste your time and energy here.
