A genuine positive experienced turned into a negative from bad recruitment practices. Something I did not expect from a top-level employer :( This is my first time writing a review for an interview at a specific company. I don't usually do this, but I felt it necessary given the negative experience with DocuSign. I know companies have the right to pull an offer at any time and not hire. I feel I must write this review in the hopes that others who may interview with DocuSign in the future don’t go through what I experienced. DocuSign had a very typical interview process for Sr. PM roles: #1 - HR Screen - Standard HR questions to see if you are a good fit, collect skills, salary expectations, and logistics. #2 - Interview with the hiring manager. Typical PM interview questions were asked. Not super challenging. It was a good conversation and friendly for a tech company to spend the time to get to know you. #3 - Loop interviews with other PMs or who work with the hiring team. These interviews were 30 mins each, and standard PM questions were asked. Time was given to ask questions from the group and for you to get a good sense of DocuSign's culture. After I completed the three steps above, I received a call from the recruiter stating that the team liked the conversations and that they would like to move forward with an offer to join. The recruiter confirmed my salary expectations and that she needed a few days to ensure everything with the hiring team and their finance department. Two days had passed, and I received a call from the recruiter expecting to receive a more concrete written offer. I did not. I was told that the team thought I had a powerful PM skill set but wanted to know if I would interview with another hiring manager with an open Sr. PM position with more “executive exposure.” I was a little confused and asked if this position does not work out if I still get an offer for the job I just completed interviewing for. The recruiter stated there would be “a place for me at DocuSign” either way. I agreed and was happy to interview with the other hiring manager. A week later, I completed the interview with the 2nd hiring manager, and I felt it was a good conversation. After the discussion, I sent a thank you note and was told by the recruiter that I would hear something in the next couple of days. The next day, the recruiter gave me a call stating they had decided to go with another candidate. I said OK and asked if I would still be getting an offer for the 1st team I interviewed. She said no and sounded confused. I stated that I thought I would be getting an offer for the 1st position. The recruiter pretended that the 1st verbal offer to join the company was never discussed. She said that it came down to “splitting hairs” between another candidate and me and that I should apply for other open PM positions. (I was being rushed off the call) I was like… “What?!” The recruiter said a few days back that an offer was coming, and there was a place for me at DocuSign. I was upset about how my candidacy for the Sr. PM role was being treated. Everything had been so positive up until that last phone call from the recruiter. Something changed somewhere, and I was not told the truth. I would have liked a little more honesty from DocuSign on why my possible offer was pulled. I never experienced this behavior at other companies I've interviewed with. Disappointing from a top employer.

Talent acquisition was very nice and honest. Gave “inside scoop” even more than a typical TA/recruiter. Benefits are good — High parental leave (6 months?!) and 401k matching. But they don't make up for a low salary and being hybrid (factoring commute costs into total comp). Later interviews sucked. People were harsh and cold — unfairly critical just to look good in front of their boss. Clearly they have not calibrated. Finally, they threw too many curveballs — (1) their homework was OVERLY VAGUE, even more than a typical PM homework (2) less than 24 hours to complete (3) DIDN’T SHOW UP to the prep call. If an interview is a signal to how real work is here, then … People give you vague directions. People criticize you when you make assumptions to make it less vague. People get angry ***because you didn’t read their mind.*** Clearly they’d rather see you in stressful situations than at your best. Punishment over encouragement. A toxic work environment. Finally, a severe lack of diversity — everyone I interviewed with the same gender.

As Docusign scales to large enterprise customers — companies with hundreds of thousands to millions of documents across multiple systems — this one-size-fits-all approach is becoming a meaningful friction point and a blocker for enterprise adoption.

      1. Recruiter screening 2. Hiring Manager interview 3. Director Interview 4. Interview with a team member 5. Presentation to a panel All of the interviewers were extremely personable and nice, they really put in the effort to make it more of a back and forth conversation and reduce stress from interviews as much as possible. I received follow ups with feedback much quicker than I could've hoped for after each interview as well, and this was greatly appreciated. Overall- very positive experience interviewing on this team and enjoyed getting to learn about their org and work.

It was pretty straightforward. The first round was with the recruiter. The second round was with the hiring manager. The last round was with multiple stakeholders. The team is very professional. I enjoyed the process overall.
