The initial HR screening was straightforward, and the recruiter provided a clear overview of the role and expectations. This part of the process was smooth and gave me a positive first impression.
The second round was a technical interview with the Director, and it went exceptionally well. The conversation was engaging, technically solid, and gave me confidence that my experience aligned well with the role. I walked away feeling encouraged and optimistic about the next steps.
Unfortunately, the process took a disappointing turn afterwards. Despite multiple follow-ups, I did not receive any further communication from HR—not even a courtesy update or closure. The lack of response was surprising, especially given the professionalism shown during the technical round.
For a company of Dolby’s reputation, the communication lapse from HR was quite disheartening. Clear and timely communication—whether positive or negative—goes a long way in maintaining a strong candidate experience.
Overall, while the interview with the Director was excellent, the post-interview silence from HR left a negative impression of the recruitment process.
