I was contacted via email and asked if I was interested in the position. I indicated to the affirmative and the contact person asked for my CV. At this stage, I only knew the name of the position. I indicated that I might be interested depending on the content of the job and I asked for a job description. The contact person was reluctant to share it and insisted that I first send my CV. I did so and another recruitment specialist contacted me to discuss my application. She asked the usual questions like why do I want to move jobs, details on my cv and current salary and expectations. After the discussion I sent additional information confirming my qualifications and salary remuneration structure. I was then invited to an interview with the Head of HR (online). On the day, I was the person in the meeting and after about 15 minutes, I messaged the recruiter to ask if anything changed to which she confirmed that the manager was running late. I reminded her that I have still not received the job description and she eventually sent it to me. I had a few minutes to review before the interview started. In fairness, the interview was pleasant and felt like a conversation. No job related questions were asked. After an hour or so, the meeting ended and I was informed that the recruiter would be in contact regarding the way forward. After a week passed with no feedback, I emailed her to query whether there is any feedback. After the second week, I emailed again asking the same question. A day later I received an email saying that "the vacancy closed". No other explanation but was assured that my cv would be kept on file.
No thanks. I feel like I dodged a bullet because if this is how they treat strangers, I can't imagine how they treat their own employees.
