Phone call with a recruiter, phone call with the department Director, 4 hour in person interview with 8 other employees with varying backgrounds and roles. I received an encouraging email from the recruiter saying I had great feedback and they were excited to go forward with next steps but then never heard anything back and was very confused as to why I was ghosted, especially after taking off an entire day of work to attend a brutal 4-hour interview. Very unprofessional to not let candidates know you've decided to go another direction.
