It was a strange and frustrating ordeal. Well, I can’t prove anything, but I felt like as soon as she heard my voice with my southern accent, she turned cold. I couldn’t help but wonder if despite this companies advertisements that they are an inclusive company, this is not true. I was originally supposed to have an interview with an HR person prior to interviewing with department staff. This is common and I thought nothing of it. She sent me a link to set up the interview which I followed. For the interview, I entered the meeting anteroom, and had to wait for her to allow me into the phone meeting room which she did after a few minutes. She asked me to tell her about myself and my experience. I had barely begun when I found myself disconnected. I went back into the meeting anteroom where it said I had to wait for someone to allow me into the meeting room after thirty minutes or so, I gave up. I wasn’t sure how to contact her, so I looked up a phone number and called the company. It seemed odd that the main number for a company only took messages, I sent her an email and it bounced back to me and I sent her a text on LinkedIn and she responded the next day telling me that she had been waiting in the meeting room and I didn’t show. she told me to make another appointment using the same original link which I did. A few days later when the second meeting came up, I sat in the meeting anteroom waiting for her to let me into the meeting room for over twenty minutes before I gave up. If this is how they want to treat potential hires, I have no interest in working for them. Just days later I got a terrific job with a top company.
