Talent beware!! This company appears to be highly disorganized and might have financial issues as well which makes me question the stability of future employment and hires. In my 15 years in the industry, I have never had an employer cancel an interview via text based email 45 minutes before its start time. Well today it happened. Element Materials Technology thought it would be appropriate to waste my time today by sending me the below email 45 minutes before it was supposed to start. I am a reasonable person and understand that things can come up, but to not even know your own "budget" before you reach out to candidates is a bit of a bait and switch - not to mention immensely unprofessional. I would severely question what this place is like behind closed doors if this is the experience when you haven't even reached the gate yet. They were respectful in regards to asking me for a follow up once they had the budget, but I respectfully declined future candidacy. Next please!
"Hi applicant
Apologies for the short notice. I will need to cancel this interview, I was just notified that the position has been placed on hold during budgeting season.
I’d like to reach back out once the role goes live.
Thank you,
Hiring manager"
