      Entretien

Hi there, I applied at Enhancv after seeing a post about the job in a Facebook group for marketers. I didn't think twice because it's a company that I loved since I first heard about it, however, I wasn't sure how the interview process is going to go. I wasn't attending much interviews until now, it's only my second big job in 10 years on the market. So I was curious myself about the whole process. I had an online assessment via typeform I had to complete first, which asked important questions to measure my SEO background and knowledge. So I took at least 2 days to properly research and answer them. Next, I was called for a 1 on 1 interview with one of the company founders who was in charge of recruiting marketing people. We had an extensive almost 1 hour call, which I took as a good sign that he was genuinely interested in my application. Next, I had a group call with the other founder and the experienced SEO executive that was already in the company, who was helping screening the candidates. I loved that interview as well, but I was completely honest about my background. What I mean is, I told them that in my previous company we weren't doing everything that a full-stack SEO with Content skills would do (e.g. content wasn't our main source of revenue, so, in my previous company we weren't doing it on a big scale). Naturally, I received an email where they weren't absolutely sure about my skills and I got a second assignment - to write an article for them. However, what arguably tipped the scales in my favor is I wanted to see it through. So I took at least 3 days to write the article properly. They helped me by giving me keyword research and article structure. So, in a couple of days after submitting my article, I got an offer and I accepted. Overall, the interview didn't take that long as you think it would. I decided that I want to see it through, so I was completely honest about my previous experience, my strengths and weaknesses, and I finished every task that was given to me. On the opposite side, I saw engagement, interest and various questions, I'll share below. I also saw they know what they are looking for, and are willing to take people who both have the skills, and won't give up. In my opinion, the questions were well-structured, and were covering every zone SEOs should know (from onsite, to offsite, technical and content). Everything I did by myself, without any feedback from a colleague, friend or relative, which I think, was a bit of a mistake from me, but at the end, it all turned okay.

The interview process was as I expected. It started with an initial interview which was about 20 minutes long. Briefly discussed my background and experiences. Then moved onto the next phase which was an assignment. After that, moved on to a final interview where I was interviewed by a co-founder and a member of their marketing team. Before my final interview, I read the other reviews here, which made me a bit nervous. However, I didn't get the impression that they were trying to get free work. The assignment I was given wasn't really anything they could repurpose. While I didn't get the job, I do recognize that they are a small and close team, so a good team fit is probably just as important as experience/background. I guess I wasn't a good fit, unfortunately.
