Entretien pour Business Analyst - Contract

      Candidature

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 3 jours. J'ai passé un entretien chez Equifax (Toronto, ON) en juil. 2016

      Entretien

I was contacted by a recruiting agency that I had worked for many times in the past. Interview process consisted of 1 in person interview with the Director and a contract BA who was only working there for 2 months. This is never a good sign. I was rushed by the recruiter into doing an interview immediately as in they called in the morning and the interview was in the afternoon. This is never a good sign. The Interview consisted of 1 hour. Yet another stupid interview....this is getting old. First 1/2 hour: I arrived for the interview where I was quickly told someone would be coming in to the meeting room and testing my BA abilities via a scenario where I had to act as a BA for Equifax. I actually found this quiet juvenile and insulting considering I am a Senior Business Analyst with over 20 years of successful IT working experience. The test was to document the information that was being communicated to me and then to ask questions. The interviewer could not speak proper English and was extremely unfriendly and cold. The interviewer kept pointing out what seemed to him as 'errors' on my resume but I quickly corrected his attempt to fault find and stop his NIT PICKING. After a half hour of this non sense, the interviewer grabbed my papers from me that I had written on and took them out of the meeting room with him. Interesting....What did they do with my 'test' papers? This is never a good sign. Second 1/2 hour: After the first silly 1/2 hour, the contract BA came into the room and continued on with the interview. During the interview the contract BA kept trying to contact the Director who was supposed to be in the interview with us. The contract BA then went ahead and asked questions on how I deal with this and how I deal with that, blah, blah, blah. Eventually the Director walked in to the meeting room, shook my hand lamely, sat down, stared at me for 60 seconds without blinking and then said she had to go. She look scared. The contract BA's questions continued on, blah, blah, blah. Then I was given a chance to ask my questions. I did not get to ask all the questions that I needed to ask because my interview was over. I managed to get 2 questions in then there seemed to be this 'I have to go now.....' feel in the air. (It was Friday - 4:30pm). So I left the interview. This is never a good sign. Message to Equifax: Where was the Manager in the interview process? Why are you allowing a contract BA to conduct your interviews? Where was your Director who was supposed to be part of the interview process? Why is your company, your full-time people so unfriendly and cold? Why do you need to 'test' people in your interview process? Remember: A BA's role is to accurately elicit and document requirements and should be able to adapt to any project, application or system. This is a good BA. However, your focus is on where or not a BA has what is to you the right 'Mainframe terminology'. Each company that uses the same Mainframe will use different terminology. This I know from my project experiences but I guess you are not looking for a good BA. Test your current full-time employees to see how they do. GOOD LUCK!
